She Doesn't Belong To Me - Pete And The Pirates

'She Doesn't Belong To Me' deserves to be number one until the sun explodes and we all die in a big ball of flaming hell. Two minutes long, posessed of jittery guitar lines so melodic you'll dance to them to the point of nipple chafing, this song really should be prescribed instead of Prozac. -NME (Best Vinyl)

limited to 1000 hand numbered copies. after the across the board critical acclaim their debut album 'little death' received upon it's release in february, pete and the pirates return with one of the lp's highlights, 'she doesn't belong to me'. clocking in at under two minutes long, 'she doesn't belong to me' is like a slice of classic pop from the golden age of spector and telstar, but as re-imagined by five, wide-eyed romantics from suburban england in 2008. it comes backed by exclusive b-side 'knife'.-Rough Trade

A single release at last for my favourite Pete and the Pirates moment. No matter that we’ve heard it in various forms before, it’s still a short and bittersweet blast of perfect pop, jangly but with enough of a melancholy air to make it adhere it to your heart. New song ‘Knife’ on the flipside is grade 1 clatterpop full of twangling guitars that leaves a mouthwateringly fruity sensation. Another great record – their greatest mayhap – from the Reading boys. -Soundsxp
